the jolley bit is the riders name (on the dh kit). i like the rotor thing think it works well, its a bit less predictable than a wheel, tho obviously it mite not work for the roadies.. oh well..
as for other designs, i think they have 2 b really simple and clear, so it mite b difficult to get buildings or hills to look good.

Count me in to get both the jersey and shorts please. As to the logo I quite like the one with the disk brake rotor, though I also think Michael's idea of the peak district symbol is a good one: both are simple and monochromatic so should print well on the clothing. I guess the uni could say otherwise though.
Either way I'd like to get both items. Ed

Im not being picky but do we really need names and numbers on the back of our shirts? I've never seen a team with numbered shirts! Wouldn't it just be covered by a race number anyway? Is the university crest too complicated to put on a shirt?

erm ye dont worry, the name/number thing is only for the dh riders..
ok here is my design - pretty sketchy at the mo but it looks gd to me
colours: i reckon dark blue/light blue/gold with gold writing. eg.
TOP: dark blue with light blue panels and gold flashes.. if yo get me. i think 'www.weridebikes.co.uk' and 'university of sheffield' have to be on there. oh ye and lower case looks better
SHORTS: dark blue, with light blue side panels and gold writing ('U. Sheffield CC' or 'SHEFF UNI' cos 'succ' cud b any1)
logo: nothin serious - i reckon a cartoon logo thing like a rider on a bike with grindstones for wheels.. ok that sounds retarded here but in my head it looks alrite.. only thing is i cant upload anythin remotely similar to how i imagined..
btw hadnt we better get this stuff soon? its already too late for the busas. maybe sum1 shud set a deadline and we can work to that, otherwise its never gona get done!
we shud order it by the end of this week. the children of bangladesh depend on us.

Nope, no numbers! The kit is going to be made by a cycling kit manufacturer, so hopefully it will look pretty professional. Current idea is to have the crest on the shoulder/arm - white with black background. Sheffield university written up the sides. Some sort of logo on the front and on the back. Maybe even the crest as the logo, something like this: ![](http://www.axisgear.ca/cms_images/Toronto%20Police%2006.jpg) I went to see marketing in the uni and they sugested looking at logos in use in the studio shop as we could use them pretty easily it any looked ok, otherwise devise our own. For colours it has to be black and yellow for uni colours. I was thinking some sort of striped 'V' or 'curves', but obviousley not to look too much like a bumblebee. possible like these: ![](http://www.axisgear.ca/cms_images/SCARAB%20061.jpg) ![](http://www.axisgear.ca/cms_images/U%20of%20Waterloo%2004.jpg) Have a look at www.axisgear.ca/design_gallery.cfm and let me know if there are any which you think would look good in our colours.

I like the blue idea, but its got to be black and gold for uni colours I'm afraid. If someone can design a cool logo then go for it. No-one had the required skills last time we got kit, so we ended up going for the table top which is on the current shirts. If we send the company our ideas then they will put it together for us included in the fee, including the design of matching shorts. Basically, the big decision is the logo to go on.

I reckon that Waterloo University one looks prettty smart. Doesn't the university crest have light blue on it, perhaps we could use a small bit of light blue as our third colour to spice up the black and yellow nicely.

How about this? ![](http://i262.photobucket.com/albums/ii119/cia07eh/SUCCJersey.jpg) Aah, the joys of 'Paint'! On the collar and on the shoulders you could print SUCC, and down the sides 'University of Sheffield' or just 'Sheffield'. I just couldn't show it because it looked crappy when I drew it. Now for the shorts!

Yeah, I like it. The blue looks ok. On some other uni shirts with crests they just use the outline of the crest in black/white (like on the shoulder of the waterloo shirt), which looks good. Personally, i'd like to get away from the crest on the left brest, I think it looks a bit school like, rather than a cycling club. I like the white writing, but I think that black writing on yellow would also work, like in eds drawing.

Ill get the old drawing pencils out and have a go at a logo which could go on the back, something not too cheasy, (like a rider on a bike with grindstone wheels!).

Ed - not sure about the swoopy bits. It looks like a Borat mankini worn over the top of a regular jersey...

Had some suggestions from someone else. To ensure popularity of the kit, dont have SUCC on it, rather Sheffield University Cycling Club, maybe in interesting/non-dating font, maybe have a v.simple logo or none at all.
