Right guys, the time has come to sort out the new jerseys. Every year they get delayed, so this year I want them done, and being worn well before Christmas! The first thing we need is a new design. So I am asking you, the members, the people who will be wearing it, to chip in with design ideas. We don't need them to be proffessional (I have done mine in paint) but we need something fresh and new. I have gathered together most of the relevant things you need for a mock up. Design Brief: University Crest "The University of Sheffield" TUOSCC www.weridebikes.co.ukroom for a sponsors logo (more on this soon...) Eye catching Black and Gold! Blank jersey to design on: General Uni crests: Old idea: Last years kit: My idea (done on paint - these are only mock-ups): Please do not talk about social kit in this topic, that is being sorted and more info will be available in a few days...

surely we could just stick with last years design for speed and simplicity, and to have a bit of continuity...? bit rubbish if peoples kit never matches surely?

I agree with Andy, continuity is important when you're trying to spot riders on one team.
However, what are thoughts and likelihood of approaching a cycling company/bike shop and telling them they can design a kit to look however they like as long is 1) Black/Yellow, and 2) Include Uni logo etc. This way, we may be able to secure a bit of sponsorship in the area of cheap jerseys (being that we would doubtlessly have a load of advertising from said company/bike shop) and they would potentially look very professional.
In line with looking professional...you never see a decent team wearing just a team jersey and random shorts, what are the possibilities of getting bibshorts/shorts knocked up?

Shorts would be decent, but I would be more in favour of knocking the jerseys out in the same design as last year. Maybe some socks too, lol.

The Bike Tree are sponsoring us this year, so we need to put their logo on the shirts. If we have the exact same jersey, but with their logo would you get the new one? We also have the problem with the company - they take ages, and their DH jerseys fit atrociously.
The problem with bibshorts is that professional teams can get nice bib shorts knocked up, would you all wear the same shorts? (at the same price point?) If roadies get whatever they like in black, we could organise getting them sublimated (printed on) as a group. I have a chance to get Endura FS260 kit printed up profesionally, which would mean we could get bibshorts/jerseys matching.
Another option is XC/Road keep the same with a new logo, and DH change.
Plus you can never have too many jerseys...

Ahh ok, it would need a re design to make the sponsor logo work. And it is probably worth it for Endura kit as they are meant to be the best for custom stuff. Could you get a .pdf file of the biketree logo henry? And i'll have a play in photoshop or something when I get a chance.

how's that? the pixels are quite big so that's the best quality i can get. sponsor logos can go on the yellow band. perhaps the bike tree logo on the left shoulder.

Im getting the bike tree logos in vector format, as that is what all printing companys want (AI or EPS). For now...

I like the asymmetric-ness of your design Ruari.
Oh, i could put this in a new thread, but it'll do here - what are we getting from the Bike Tree?

I liked the XC jerseys... I say keep those and put the logos on them, and yes I would buy another one, as I they are cheaper than most jerseys normally and look good.
Agreed that the downhill ones need to be done somewhere else though...

Oh, i could put this in a new thread, but it'll do here - what are we getting from the Bike Tree? Full press release coming soon, but one of the main things is a 15% discount*, currently in talks but it is a mint new shop, for actual riders so no crappy kit, just stuffed full of good stuff. *not including sale items, blah blah But yeh, keep this on topic people Current consensus: Roadies want bib shorts (and socks...) XC are happy DH need something new

The option of sublimated jerseys is also there, ie get any old jersey we like and make it our own. Option for the DH is fox, who seem to unknowingly love Uni colours: Endura do the fs260 in a very nice yellow:
