Anyone up for a fairly demanding ride on Sat?
Starting at the Arts tower at 11.
Plan would be to get out into the Peak proper.
Pace won't be stunningly fast but we could be out for up to 6 hours so be prepared.
Provisional route* would be Parks (as on Fresher's ride) up over Stanage, down into Bamford, over Win Hill, drop into Hope (Cake at the Legendary Woodbine is a possibility).
From Hope back up the Roman Road Down Lockerbook/Gore Heights, up House of Pain, down to Cutthroat Bridge and then back to Shef.
*Subject to weather/fitness/botheredness/hangover

Gore heights, cutthroat bridge and house of pain!?
As appealing as it sounds, I don't think I'm fit enough to join you col. Have fun!

I might be up for joining you one way as I think my fitness level is somewhere between non-existent and zero. I'd be getting the train back from Hope.
It just depends on if I'm bike shopping with the missus.

You won't ever say that again!
A Denni says, Train back from Hope is an option for anyone who fancies a shorter ride.

For anyone new to the area, that's a fab route. And the Woodbine is excellent for replacing more carbs than you've burnt all week, and they don't mind you inadvertently emptying a litre of camelbak water all over the floor. Well I say they don't mind, I've been allowed back since... Sadly, unless we can buy a car between opening times and 10:30 that morning, I'm going to have to miss it. *grump*

The missus says we'll go bike shopping next weekend so looks like I'll be coming and doing the whole "I'm not good enough to do a whole ride" thang.
It'll be nice when I have the fitness to do a whole ride, but hey why rush these things.

Well that was a nice little spin out.
Broken bikes, comedy towing, pie peas and gravy, Top Gear style races and more than a few miles covered.
Thanks to everyone for coming out, I'll remember that ride for a loooooong time.

Yeah, good ride that.
I'm soooooooooo unfit. I can still feel the pain from 2 days of riding after doing none all summer.
