Right, this is the former 'pizza hut' ride that some of you will remember from years past. But now its 2005. Time to move on baby. Is anyone up for doing a large ride in the peaks, probably starting about 5am, and then finish in a pub somewhere (Ladybower inn?) and eat a massive meal, drink beer and get the train home (or take a very gentle ride home over the snake). I reckon the weekend of the 21st-22nd May (Prob sat morning) would be good as it at the end of term and before any exams start. Its also a weekend, so those of us who work during the week can come aswell! As for the route, we can make that up on the day but as a rough guide- Meet at crosspool, ranmoor singletrack, stangage, causway, banford clough, win hill, hope cross, down to edale, rushup edge, cavedale (Castelton), road to Hope, BAck up to Hope cross, down, up and down again to Ladybower. Possibly cut throat bridge and then the pub! The Ladybower inn is just there, waiting . What do people think??

I'll definatley be up for some crack of dawn action!!
And the idea of hitting a pub straight after has got my vote. Maybe the dhers and roadies would want to do something and meet us at the pub?
I know i haen't been out on the scene for ages but since sorting out my frame before easter i'm now under a mountain of coursework. Hopeing to get a few hours in next wednesday.

If we can get a wide number of the bike club, from all disciplines, to the pub then thatll be cool. Win hill is very nearby for the downhillers, but i dont know how good it is. It looks steep though, which is a start. If people are put off by the time, then perhaps its a bit early. We wouldnt want to start much later than 8am though for such a big ride. The pub food is probably served all day at the weekend so a later start is possible. Matt, r u out on sunday??

8am for the epic start is much too late. needs to be before 6 or there's no sense of achievement or sillyness.

Right, are people still up for this? I definately am. What could possibly be better than i nice big ride in the peak district sun, followed by a few beers and a slap up pub roast...
Is 6am still cool for everyone on saturday morning (21st)?

I'll be there, but it won't evenbe dark at 6 will it? Are we starting from the arts tower? Whats the route? I think, ranmoor singletrack ;D, stanage, down to bamford , up winhill, hope cross , down through hope, up broken road , around top of mamtor to hollins cross, down to edale road , back up to hope cross, left over and down to snake pass, up to hagg farm , down to visitors centre, up other side derwent edge , down to cut throat bridge, off to pub. ;D Easy.

Very tempted.
6am arts tower is ok (just) by me but I know that getting up early will make all the difference.
Go on then, you've talked me into it.

I reckon 6am is about right. I know it will be light, but 5am is a whole hour earlier!! Meeting at the arts tower is a good idea too. Right, now where are those jockey wheels i ordered...
