See the post above
According to dave we need to ride the event and have the results into the sports office ASAP, before the football and stuff starts so we need to hold the TT early. Also we're going to bolehills after. Jerome Is there no way you can get a lift from someone?

I'll give the Hill climb a go but I can't do the TT unfortunately. I'm not sure if I'm an official member yet though cos haven't actually paid (but have tried! ) but maybe I could sort that out on Monday? Does anyone know? Also, is anyone going with Shefrecc on Sunday?

You won't be a member if you haven't paid - Just bring the money (£10) along next wednesday for the HC.

Great. Just to be sure, it's only the 5 fastest from each uni that count right? I don't want to hold us back, only have a go at it!

Yep, only the time of the top five riders count.

We rode past the finish line in Litton on todays ride, and I think we might have to adjust the proposed finish line. The current finish only gives you about 15 yards to come to a stop after one of the fastest parts of the course, before the T-junction. When your legs are full of lactate and you're bleeding out of your eyeballs to take the win for uni people might struggle to safely stop in time from 30mph+...!

This health and safety gone mad! Surely half of the fun (and the competition) is to see who can decelerate the quickest whilst coughing their lungs out?
Or...yes, maybe we should alter it a wee bit to prevent some bad shit happening.

I also rode up it today - together with the 2nd hardest hill I've been up in the peaks out of Stoney Middleton. There is a Litton sign before the bends so we could stop it there but the thirty mph signs are only about 25 meters after a 90o blind bend so I'm not quite people will be doing 30mph+ but I'll have a chat with Starkey.

Was on the ride with Andy today and agree with him, even with that bend, with the sprint to the line I have no doubt that 30mph is definitely attainable and stopping before that junction could prove dangerous, wouldn't be too hard just to move it back up the road a few hundred metres surely?

I quite like the idea of having a final chicane in so we'll just hold it at a safe distance before the junction. I think there's a driveway/layby on the left - we'll just decide it on the day.

You go up beeley Moor road and normally you would turn left on the top but we would continue on the same road and finish at the next left turn. See the map I put up earlier.

So I have these people riding the HC on wednesday (See the first post of this thread for the plan): -
Adam Dunajko, Alex Longfellow, Andy Cater, Clara Sandelind, Ed Harris, Jamie Calwell, Jerome Jacob, John Albaya, Jonathan Shuster.
Matt Tucker - You think you'll ride it?
Ben Thomas, Robin - Are you gonna ride it?
Anyone else want to ride / anyone here can not make it?

At the moment my knee and arms are feeling a lot better, so I think I will be able to make it, tentatively. Still got to look over my bike though. Put me on the end in case I have to pull out.
