I bent my disc rotor to within 1cm of the spokes Crashing into rocks is foolish. Currently I have an sm-rt53... What should i buy to replace it? What tools will i need to do so? Do our resident mechanics have the tools and knowhow to help me replace it before the pizza hut ride, next Wednesday? These are what i can see on chain reaction, but i haven't had to touch these brakes in a year - since i got the bike - so i don't know anything about them. Deore £8 - Is this the same as i currently have? SLX £20 - Expensive upgrade? I think i'll be happy with the deore, but need confirmation I'm looking at the right thing before ordering.

Yes replace it. You need a cassette lockring tool, I have one. But only go for deore no point in the other one.
Is it a centrelock for sure?

Thanks Nyle.
I'm pretty sure it's Centrelock. It's got rivets instead of 6 bolts, and searching sh-rt53 gives descriptions of centrelock.
The Deore Rotor has been dispatched. Hopefully it arrives with enough time for us to fit it before the Pizza Hut Ride next Wednesday.

If not then you can borrow a brake and a front wheel off me.
