The AGM (annual general meeting) is where next year committee is decided by democratic vote.
Meet at 7.30 , in the South Seas (venue subject to change)
The AGM will take about an hour then we'll hit a few pubs on the way down to Fuzz.
If you feel that you can help run the club then get thinking , people running for positions usually give a little speech outlining what they want to achieve.
Just to give you a heads up on what positions are up for grabs:
Captain Vice XC capt Vice DH capt Vice Road capt Treasurer Secretary Social Sec
Il post of a list of key responsibilities soon.

Any chance of these key responsibilities? Also how many people are going out after? Ive got a deadline next day so doubt I will be.
And how does it work? Do you have to get nominated and seconded then give a speech and a public vote?

post AGM social is always a hit - the more we get to come along to the voting the better. you're a first year henri you'll be fine - deadlines - pah!!!!! i wish i'd taken my first year less seriously but hey ho. anyway... You nominate yourself for the position along with any others that want to run for the same position. all standers have a bit of a speech about what they want to do/why etc - its all normally fairly relaxed- so no time limits- and then there will be an anonomous vote then a count up and then the winner is awarded the position.

here is some general info about being on committee:
-It involves quite a lot of unpaid work. The idea of having a title in the club may be appealing, but the novelty may wear off if there isnt some real enthuasism to get things done and make the club better.
-Forward thinking and imagination. Saying 'this is how weve always done it' will not make us a successful inclusive club.
-You should be aiming to represent and cater for the whole club even if they dont ride there bike 24-7.
-Organisation and committment- ideas need implementing. If no-one did the accounts or send emails the club would be rubbish.
Treasurer -I was told it is the most work, however keep on top of things and its fairly easy. - you will have to keep accounts, budget and allocate money fairly -MOST OF ALL you should be aiming to use the budget efficiently as equity, how can the member's money be used in way that they couldnt use it before.
Vice captains -Orgainise weekly rides (not necessarily lead them but ensure a leader is present) -Organise races and varsity races -Communicate information about races/events -encourage people to ride and train. -Aim to be inclusive- if there is someone who is being left out they are probably not on their, help do some networking and make sure they have someone to ride with.
Captain
-Communication, with club members, committee, officials, companies etc. Good at listening -Implementer and allocator of work. -Encouraging -Care for the members and committee -Be able to see the members/committees/club's strengths and how to put it into good use. -organised and good at prioritising
Secretary -Sponsoship -Communication and publicity -Sponsorship -Emails -Sponsorship -Renewing affiliation -Health and saftey and best practice guideline implementation.
More to come.....
