we -shouldn't- need them just yet, but the nights are drawing in fast... i think one or two people have offroad lights these days (myself included) so hopefully that'll become a regular thing in future. if you're using firefox get this add on addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1915 because its ace.

if you want some lights then I'd recomend tow of these, some innertubes (as padding) and some zip ties to your helmet. 460lumens for £40 (including the batteries and a decent charger). Last 2 and a bit hours (4 if you only have one on) on a charge. and run off AA's so carrying spare batteries is as easy and cheep as can be, Torch: www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.14909Batteries: www.vapextech.co.uk/acatalog/High_Power_Consumer_Batteries.html (get the 2900mah ones, theyr probably closer to 2300/2400, but still some of the highest capacity nimh's you can get) Charger: same link as the batteries, i got the £13 one, becaus ei didnt trust the super fast one not to blow a hole in my kitchen, and the cheeper one doesnt have as much protection/a trickle charge (essential ona fast charger, it'll boost run times by 10-20% if you give it a few more hours in the charger) I bought 4 torches, 8 batteries, charger, and some of these for bar mounting, all for under £100, thats 920lumens (or very close, maybe 10% loses in the lense), its a lot of light, trust me, i recon one would be enough, its certainly puts spots in front of your eyes. www.fenix-store.com/product_info.php?products_id=274
