I'm putting this up for people who need to fix their bike but don't have the right tools. Hopefully this will make it easier when your bike breaks and you don't know who to call (ghostbusters).
If you want to get involved please post up what tools you have and if you have special skills like trueing wheels etc.
Tools I have:
Bleed kits: Shimano and hayes Crank tools: square taper puller and hollowtech 2 gubbins Cassette lockring tool chain tools allen keys of various sizes massive socket set soldering set hack saw cable snips E-normous hammer
Special skills:
I'm pretty good at bleeding brakes and have done most types except maguras. I can hit things really hard with a hammer

I've got a home made BB tool for truvativ ISIS BB's, (not sure if it will fit other brands) but it does the trick to perfection. Lots of WD40 style stuff. A nice pair of cable cutters. A random assortment of allen keys and socket sets.
Experience - Not too bad with gear tinkering/fitting cables Pretty good at fidling with cable disc brakes (as mine are a complete nightmare!) Have been known to use the slightly controversial hammer method for 'truing' wheels (could explain my oddly bent axel?).
Is the tool kit Al has club owned or is it his own pretty comprehensive kit?

10(ish) years of fixing bikes for peanuts experience
pretty smooth at bleeding maggies, pretty jittery with everything else
can build wheels almost as well as i can unbuild them
got a workshop (in liverpool i'm afraid) with pretty much everything i can think of i need except - headset press, cable cutters (some bastards nicked em again) and i'll be bringing my mini workshop to sheffield at the start of the summer for anyone who's staying over june, july and august
better at fixing bikes than i am at drinking...

I can strip down marzocchi forks and do most stuff.
I follow the practice of mallet mechanics and live by the motto that it aint broke, it's just asking to be bodged.

Right, I'll put myself up for being a roadie mechanic! I've been working in a bike shop over the summer and xmas hols so I've picked up some tips and tricks! I mainly work on road bikes as that's what I ride and know best but if someone wants me to sort out a MTB, BMX, track bike, tricycle, girlfriend etc ;D I'll be glad to oblige. Drop me an e-mail (pha06bt@shef.ac.uk) and I'll try to make some time available for you! Service free of charge but voluntary donations in the form of beer, energy gels/bars, inner tubes etc might be accepted if its a tough job! I might be able to make home visits depending on my training and distance to house but if not I live in Crookes for people to bring bikes up to me! I have all the basic tools but no specialty stuff like headset press, bleed kits etc. I'm also lacking hollowtech stuff and campag stuff which is a little stupid as I've just realised my TT bike has a hollowtech BB I make up for lack of tools with my experience! I've also got some road bike spares to help people keep going until they can get hold of permenant replacement parts.

Im not a member of this club yet, but plan to join, just about to go into my second year, living in crookesmoore. I work as a (junior) mechanic at leisure lakes (chelt) out of term time, and at jejames term time (sales staff though) and I have a fairly comprehensive tool kit. Basically everything to sort out my mtb and my bmx, may struggle on road bikes though. Screwdrivers (large and small phillips and flathead), several sets of metric and also imperial allen keys, chainwhip, pedal spanner, lockring tool, hollowtech2 tool, multitools, spoke keys, tyre levers, grease, chain tools, t25, files, hacksaw, fox shox pump (300psi), ratchet set, wrenchs, wire cutters, pliers, random spokes, nipples, lube, dot5.1 fluid, gear inner and outer. Dont have my own workstand at the moment but working on that. And the knowledge that goes with fixing bikes for a living! I do most brakes but dont have my own syringes (or as much syringes) etc for avid, as I dont run them myself (I run hope). email is eca07hcm Also got a park bottle opener so that comes in useful afterwards

I have a multitool, possibly.
However, I do have a fair bit of experience from working in my LBS through my 6th Form years, so if anyone needs a hand with owt, I might be able to help. ^_^

Iv got a home made one that you can use with a normal Square taper one. Or i can lend you a self extracting bolt. These are for the shimano octalink system which is simular but not sure if they will work on isis.
